Pick an obstacle. The model from the note calculates whether the Roadster's 250 kg of compressed air is enough to clear it, and how much electricity a jump lasting a few seconds costs.
Model from the note “Where Is Musk Taking His Empire?”: the car takes off and brakes with a thrust equal to 3.2 times its weight, the value recorded during the demonstration; it clears the obstacle in free flight; the barrel roll is performed by side nozzles limited to 40 kN. Run-up speed is capped at 200 km/h. The electricity is that of an ideal compression to 437 bar, a minimum: a real compressor uses about twice as much. Electric car counted at 15 kWh per 100 km. Tesla has not published the actual thrust, so the results hold only within these assumptions. Simplified drawings, to scale; the car is enlarged when the obstacle is very tall.
